The last few days have been beautiful, near perfect weather and some of us who suffer from spring fever, while others struggle only with the level of powder. This time of year reminds me that summer has come and things will be slow – in the network. I just want to take a moment and discuss this trend and what I believe may be the cause of it.

Let’s start on the fall. At this time of year we are working feverishly to try to get new business because we realized that the things around the holidays akan slow. As December draws near, some of us to be busy with things like parties and shopping and our attention has changed from building our business. Others feel the more difficult to make contact as people began to long holidays.

Then the holidays pass. We put our marketing and networking efforts into high gear, go to a meeting a few days, trying to get things cranked again. The result is increased business and increase profits. Have you ever noticed that in the early part of February start taking something that is almost at the speed of aggravating? When this happens, unless we are prepared for growth, we start back on our campaign as we scramble to complete the work that has been generated by our marketing efforts.

As a result, we stop the network. We lost contact with the people we have made and ask for referrals, and they begin to feel as though we are not interested in them anymore. When this happens, they may find other people refer to when the target prospects who have come together.

Early to mid-summer, we began to crawl from the bottom and work our search for more opportunities. Unfortunately, the holidays have started again as the children released from school for the summer. So once again it is very difficult to find contacts that have business before we met again late last winter.

Present in the network and business group meetings regularly; 8 or 10 years is a good number.

Sure does not have anything but an active member of a group of businesses, councils, committees and chairs tend to be loyal inner circle to their business partners support groups. It’s almost like fraternity or sorority.

The Bottom Line on Business Groups

The key to getting the most out of the business groups to become active members. Keeping the name in front of members. You remember to do the follow-up. You want the business group members to find out the name and think that the first time when they have computer problems. If you are patient and keep your business group members will pay off.
